We asked Fixx athlete, Allison Keeme a few questions about her CrossFit journey…
What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?
“My husband Jeff started at CrossFit and instantly loved it. We did some of the home workouts together during quarantine and then he surprise signed me up when the gym reopened. I gave it a shot and have been happy to be there ever since.”
What was your first impression? How has that changed?
“At first I thought I was way too out of shape for this type of thing. But I scaled as needed with the help of great coaches and have been a lot more capable than I ever expected. There are still things I may not see the need to ever do (handstand push-up, anyone?), but I no longer feel like any of it is out of my reach if I want to achieve it.”
What was your first “bright spot”? (Positive moment)
“My first bright spot was being able to do an actual sit-up!”
What are you working on now?
“My goal now is to work on my endurance and up my weights a little. I’m happy with my progress so far and know I can do more.”
What is your favorite FIXX memory?
“The best WODs are the ones that surprise you with an absolute butt-kicking workout but leave you feeling energized and refreshed!”
