CrossFit FIXX Member Highlight – Ruth Adamson!!

“Late Summer 2015, I got invited to teach yoga/mobility at a CrossFit gym in Houston. I was skeptical at first (be wary of cults and all) but my first WOD (that I couldn’t even finish) had me hooked. I very quickly learned how helpful my range-of-motion was to my lifting form (and how terrible my overall fitness was.)

Moving to Tucson, I was hesitant to pick another box but then I found FIXX and again I was hooked. I started with bootcamp before getting back into the CrossFit classes.

Not being able to be at the gym during the pandemic forced me to work on the dreaded cardio. Now that I’m back, I’m looking forward to building my weights back up to where they were before and hopefully beyond. Nothing is more satisfying than dropping a loaded barbell after a successful lift.” 


Why Strength Training Is Important As You Age

People can do daily activities with a minimal amount of cardiovascular fitness, but when they don’t have the strength or the muscle power to do daily activities, that’s when they lose their independence. To build muscle, you need to do strength training!
