CrossFit Fixx Member Highlight – Sabrina Savage!!

We asked Fixx athlete Sabrina Savage a few questions about her CrossFit journey..

What brought you to CrossFit in the first place? 

I had 3 babies and my last one was 2 years old and it was TIME to get my fitness back after almost 8 years of no consistent exercise.  This was my ME time mentally and physically.  I used to compete at the PRO level in road cycling and after the birth of my first son it was hard to find something that I could stick to consistently without taking too much time away. The 45 min cross fit classes DID it!

What was your first impression? How has that changed? 

My first impression was positive and I loved how I could come in half awake at 6am and be told what to do, not think and get a killer workout! Over the 1 1/2 years I’ve just enjoyed CrossFit Fixx even more, developing friendships, community and just a habit of fitness each day.

What was your first “bright spot”? (Positive moment) 

When Coach Tawnya taught us how to hip pop the slam ball!! That might be one of my favorite non bar movements now that I know how to do them correctly!

What are you working on now? 

I am working on healing my wrist from an injury so I can get back to my favorite olympic lifts! and Mountain biking more! 

What is your favorite FIXX memory? 

My favorite FIXX memory was from this year at the CrossFit OPEN.  Even Though I was injured and couldn’t participate I came to hang out and be apart of the after party which is where community is made and it was awesome getting to hang out with everyone!! Hopefully more to come!

Do you have a favorite movement? Favorite WOD?   My Favorite lift is deadlifts! There is something about lifting HEAVY and that one does it! Favorite WOD: Any that have weights/ full body + Cardio!
