CrossFit FIXX Member Highlight – Andrea Campos!

We asked Fixx athlete Andrea Campos a few questions about her CrossFit journey..

What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?

“I was looking for a place to continue exercising, a place close to home and so I could not have any more excuses to continue exercising, especially because the pandemic began … I watched videos about Crossfit because I always heard that they were strong exercises and that caught my attention. I googled a place and found CrossFit Fixx that was 5 minutes away from my house, and I said great!”

What was your first impression? How has that changed?

“My first impression: I was very nervous because I did not know if I could be at the same level as the others. I saw how they lifted a lot of weight and I was just a beginner .. I have always been very competitive with myself. I felt a bit embarrassed, but that changed when I started to listen to “good work, you can do it!” the others offered their help if I needed something. They were all very kind. They gave me a lot of positive energy and I loved that, starting with the very professional instructors and always motivating me … until today I have not received any negative comments … hearing the phrase: “Good work”, every day is very satisfying.”

What was your first “bright spot”? (Positive moment)

“The open games were a lot of fun. I could feel the adrenaline .. it was a very exciting experience.”

What are you working on now?

“Pull ups! It is so difficult for me, but I’m sure that one day soon I will do it.”

What is your favorite FIXX memory?

“Every day is a challenge for me, therefore every day is a good memory. I keep learning and discovering my potential.”

Do you have a favorite movement? Favorite WOD? 

“Barbell deadlifts and squats!”
