CrossFit Fixx Member Highlight – Kris Van Horne!!

We asked Fixx athlete, Kris Van Horne, a few questions about her CrossFit journey…

What brought you to do Personal Training in the first place?

“I started personal training after my chiropractor suggested I try a functional movement screening to determine my flexibility and overall body dynamics. After the screening was conducted I realized that there was so much more I could do to improve my health and my movements.”

What results have you experienced so far? How does this affect your daily life?

“After beginning personal training I felt significant improvement not only in my physical health but my mental health as well. I am more flexible, I’m stronger and mentally I’m more confident in my day-to-day activities.”

What was your first personal training “bright spot”? (Positive moment)

“I think the first bright spot I found in my personal training was my realization that my body felt better and the camaraderie of others at FIXX made me want to not only continue personal training but to train more than one day a week.”

What are you working on now?

“Ive been training at FIXX now for several years and I’m working on increasing my numbers on certain workouts to include speed, cardio, repetitions and weight.”

What is your favorite FIXX memory?

“My favorite FIXX memory was the first time I walked in for personal training and a CrossFit group was just completing their workout. They turned and welcomed me as if I have been working out there for years. They made me feel like a friend who was welcomed to FIXX no matter my fitness needs or levels.”

Do you have a favorite movement? Favorite workout?

“My favorite workout is trying to beat others on cardio distance challenges. My favorite movement is deadlifting! Several years before starting personal training I was an amateur power lifter. I never thought, 10 years later I could improve on my deadlift capabilities but training at FIXX has proven me wrong.”
